Amazonite stone is sometimes called Colorado jade or Pikes Peak jade because of its resemblance to jade. Amazonite color and opacity is very similar to jade. It is usually pale green but can be blue-green, turquoise or yellow-green and can have gray, sienna and white inclusions. Amazonite is also found in Virginia, Australia and Madagascar. "The Amazon Stone," was named after the Amazon River in South America. However, there are no longer any deposits of this pale green mineral rock found there anymore. It is valued as a healing stone. These Amazonite beads are graded from the largest center bead 2 5/8 inch diameter to smaller ones along the neckline 1 3/4 inches. They are spaced with basket shaped Hillside sterling silver beads and dark aqua Czech glass doughnut beads. The necklace is 21 inches long and although it looks substantial is designed to fit fluidly along the neck. The clasp is a silver-toned large ring and toggle bar. It looks stunning with dressy clothes or worn with casual attire.
