This bracelet is a wrist wrap stackable cuff made from four strands of strong shape retaining memory wire (tempered stainless steel wire that remembers its shape when you expand it and snaps back to its original form when you release it). It has no clasp. The bracelet self-adjusts to your movements. It is 1 1/2 inches wide. It is made from vintage African vinyl beads. Vinyl beads from Nigeria are made from old recycled vinyl records. These are typically very thin, feature a hole that is about 1mm wide and may be strung bead to bead on a piece of string to create unique and attractive necklaces.
Commonly available in colors such as blue and red, these African trade beads were especially popular in the 20th century in countries such as Nigeria. Vinyl beads from Nigeria are used in Africa to create beautiful necklaces which may then be used to showcase an exquisite handmade pendant as its focal point. Vinyl beads from Nigeria are therefore ideal for both traditional and contemporary necklace and bracelet designs. These are from an old necklace that had fallen apart. I salvaged what I could and remade them into this cuff including the two jet pendants as end charms. The bracelet will fit a size 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 inch wrist and is very light weight.
As with all my pieces, the workmanship on this bracelet is guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase.
