About the Artist
My name is Linda Sole and I am a bead addict! I live in Creston, Montana west of
the beautiful Swan Range Mountains. Glacier Park is just over the hill. I share my home
with fiancé Randy, Penny the cat and Tucker, a black giant schnauzer.
I am mostly
self-taught when it comes to designing and I have taken classes from master beaders to
learn how to do techniques. I have a studio full of beads and art supplies that keep me
very busy; I also draw and paint. I love art of every kind, but the satisfaction I get
from beading is joyous. Most of the fun is in finding the parts to put together. I visit
bead shops, wholesale shows, I beach comb and I am constantly looking around riverbeds
and the woods for likely beads. I also make my own beads from raw materials like glass,
silver and clay in my studio. Beads are like little works of art in themselves and using
my hands to put them together in color combinations or unique textures is very rewarding.
I always feel very good when one of my pieces says something to someone and they want
to wear it for personal beauty or self expression, or it just because it makes them smile.
After all, that’s how our love affair with self adornment and beads began in the dawn of
our becoming human. I appreciate your support and hope you enjoy my work.
